How I built it
A local city directory
A directory website for a city, with its own app.
The problem
Finding a good local business usually means wading through national listings that know nothing about the area.
What I built
A directory website for Chelmsford, where I lived for 25 years, with its own app, listing local businesses by what they do and where they are.
How it works
- 1
Businesses listed by type
Each business has its own page with what it does, how to contact it and where it is.
- 2
Search or browse the map
Look up a type of business or explore the map to see who's nearby.
- 3
On the phone too
The directory's own app put the same listings in people's pockets.
What it uses
- A directory website
- Maps
- A mobile app
- Local SEO
What something like this could do for your business
Being easy to find locally: a complete Google listing, a website that shows up in local searches, and the directories your customers actually use.

A private voice-typing app
Hold two keys, speak, and it types into any app. It runs on the computer itself, so nothing goes to the cloud, and it learns the names it gets wrong.

No hard sell. If there’s nothing worth fixing, I’ll say so.
