How I built it
A children's book
A cartoon book about a monkey, self-published on Amazon.

The problem
A cartoon monkey character had a following on social media, but no story of his own that children could read.
What I built
A comic-style children's book, for ages 6 to 12, about a cheeky monkey who leaves the zoo to join a secret team of crime-solving monkeys. Professionally illustrated and self-published on Amazon as a paperback and an ebook.
How it works
- 1
The story
A 29-page adventure: zoo life, a tough training camp and a first secret mission, ending on a cliffhanger for book two.
- 2
The pictures
A professional illustrator drew every page as comic-book panels, so it reads like a cartoon.
- 3
Print and ebook files
Laid out for print and for Kindle, each with its own ISBN.
- 4
Published on Amazon
Self-published through Amazon KDP and on sale in the UK and the US.
What it uses
- Amazon KDP
- Professional illustration
- Print and ebook publishing
