How I built it
An AI art app
Turns a photo of a cat into a work of art. Built as a web app, then as a phone app.

The problem
Cat owners love the idea of turning their own cat into a work of art, but most aren't going to learn how to write AI prompts to get it.
What I built
An app that does the hard part for them. Pick a style from a gallery, from a Roman gladiator to an Art Deco portrait, upload a photo of your cat, and it puts your cat into the artwork. Built first as a web app, then as a phone app.
How it works
- 1
Pick a style
Browse a gallery of finished cat art and choose the look you want.
- 2
Upload your cat
AI checks the photo suits that style before anything is spent, so a blurry or awkward photo doesn't waste a go.
- 3
AI puts your cat in the picture
Your photo and the artwork go to the image model together, with a prompt written for that style. Every style is tested on black, white and ginger cats.
- 4
Download or print
Save it, or have it upscaled for printing. There are memorial pictures too, and even a talking-cat video.
What it uses
- Next.js
- React Native and Expo
- Google's Nano Banana image model
- OpenAI Vision
