Is your website a brochure or a salesperson?
Ten plain questions about your website. Tick the ones it already does and you get a score out of 10, plus the three things to fix first.
Your answers stay on this page. The kitchen firm in the example is made up. Nothing to sign up for.
People say they've seen our website, but it never seems to bring in any work.
It looked smart when it went up. It says who you are and there's a contact page.
But a customer on their phone wants to know three things fast: what it costs, whether you're any good, and how to get hold of you. If they can't see that, they go back to Google and ring the next firm.
A brochure tells people you exist. A salesperson gets them to call.
How it works
Tick what your website does now. Ten plain questions, no jargon.
Each tick shows what it looks like on a real homepage, so you can see the difference.
You get a score out of 10 and the three things to fix first, most important at the top.
See it in action
Tick the boxes your own website already does. The homepage of Hedgerow Kitchens, a made-up firm in Coggeshall, changes as you tick, so you can see what each one adds.

A brochure
It tells people you exist, but it doesn't help them decide to call.

Fix these first
- Put your phone number at the top of every page, set to ring when it's tapped. Most local customers still want to talk to someone.
- Make the first line say what you do and where, like "Kitchens fitted in Coggeshall and Braintree". Visitors decide in seconds whether they're in the right place.
- Show a "from" price or a typical range. People who can't see a price often ask a firm that shows one.
