How long does your website take to load on a phone?

Type your web address. Google's own test loads your homepage on a mid-range phone. Then you'll see what's holding it up and how quick it could realistically be.

Takes 20 to 40 seconds. Nothing on your site is changed.

How the figures are worked out

The test is Google's own
Google's PageSpeed Insights loads your homepage on a simulated mid-range phone with a slowish mobile signal, the same test Google uses to judge sites. The time shown is how long until the main content, usually the big photo or headline, appears.
Each fix comes with Google's own estimate
Fixes overlap, so they aren't simply added up. The biggest counts in full and each of the rest counts for less. That's why you see a range, not one exact figure.
Never below about 1.2 seconds
Even a very lean homepage takes about that long on Google's mobile test, so we never promise anything faster.
A rebuild only when it clearly wins
A lean homepage typically shows its main content in 1.3 to 2.5 seconds on the same test. Site builders like Wix and Squarespace keep control of their own code and servers, so tuning them only goes so far.

A quicker site is one part of the job

Speed matters because customers on phones give up and ring someone else. I look after the whole online side of local businesses: the website, Google, enquiries and the AI tools that save time.
